For ‘PipeDreamers’ Only!

The supreme challenge and adventure is the ability to see through the tired, broken, and dirty condition of a pipe and capture a vision of its potential – with a bit of help.  Most of the pipes I have re-commissioned and sold have resulted from people exploring my ‘Help Me!’ baskets (and boxes!) looking for that perfect pipe that will be a gift for a husband or boyfriend – yes, many of the explorers have been women! Or, simply to add to one’s own collection. This gave me the idea of this virtual ‘ Help Me!’ basket For ‘PipeDreamers’ Only! – allowing a virtual tour of pipes waiting to be found by new stewards, which then can be commissioned for restoration for that someone who can ‘see’ what the pipe can become!

How does it work?  If you discover a pipe and want to commission it for restoration, send me a note at ThePipeSteward@gmail. identifying the pipe you want restored (Ref.# and name).  I will provide a rough estimate of the cost of the project (plus postage) and completion projection.  When the commissioned pipe’s research, restoration and its publication are completed, I will provide the final cost giving you the option of either purchasing the pipe or passing.  If you pass, I will simply put the pipe in The Pipe Steward StoreAll pipes are sold to benefit the Daughters of Bulgaria.  If you have question, send me a note or leave a comment below.  Happy hunting!

Churchwardens?  If you’re ‘dreaming’ about adding a CW to your collection, I can make one for you.  This write up gives you an idea of what is involved: Story of the Phoenix

#333 Sport Horn Stem Stubby Paneled Tomato

#332 Paul Viou St. Claude Half Bent Billard – France

#331 Bruyere Extra Paneled Billiard – This is a very nicely shaped Paneled Billiard that I believe was manufactured in France.  The bowl is ample.

#327 Chatel Horn Stem Sculpted Billiard

#325 EP Briar Petite Rustified Billiard

#324 BBB Classic London, England 106S Chimney – With the brass roundel on this BBB, gives some age.  I’m calling it a ‘Chimney’ just by the appearance.  I’ll seek to verify this with the shape number in my research. A nice looking vintage English pipe.

#323 Jeantet Superior Slightly Bent Saddle Chimney France – I’m calling this shape a Chimney, which could be a marginal call, has a distinctive tightening of the ‘chimney’ at the rim which I find attractive.  Jeantet is a French name that I appreciate after restoring several.

#321 Pipe Dr. Geo Deposee Horn Stem Paneled Bulldog France

#320 Unmarked Horn Stem Bulldog – Even though this Bulldog is unbranded, it came with the French Lot of 50, and with the horn stem, I’m guessing it is also has a French COM.  Very nice different look for a classic Bulldog and a diamond horn stem.

#319 Napoleon of Italy Billiard – This Italian stamped classic Billiard has very nice grain pattern hidden beneath the old finish.

#318 Vieille Bruyere Petite Blasted Apple – French made.

#317 Chap Ecume – Meerschaum Lined Horn Stem Billiard – This French made of St. Claude, has some shank challenges, but the fact that it’s Meerschaum lined makes this restoration very much worth it.  I like the horn rim – adds a rustic feel.

COMMISSIONED #315 ERGI Grand Luxe RJ Horn Stem Billiard – The horn stem on this pipes is nice as it shapes out the classic Billiard.  I believe this is a French made pipe, but until I do the research, I’m not 100% sure.

#301 Crown Gold Plated Band Giant Bent Acrylic Billiard – This Billiard is a Goliath with a length of 6 inches and a huge bowl with a height of 2 1/2 inches – plenty of packing space for your favorite blend.  The acrylic stem is eye catching and a gold plated stamped band completes the classy ensemble.
